一The Work
I make the records I play.
No press kit makes the case the music does. Deep, melodic, organic house with an underground soul, the right register for a room with a Japanese heart and a late licence.
- Fault ToleranceA full album, written, produced and released on my own label. Out now on Spotify and Bandcamp.
- Sync PrimitiveThe label I founded and run. I sign the music, release it, and curate the room around it.
- I curated and played the first Malaysian-led showcase at Amsterdam Dance Event, the world's leading electronic gathering. Kuala Lumpur, in conversation with Amsterdam.
二The Night
Dinner, into the deep.
Ukiyo, the floating world, was the night-side of old Japan: music, pleasure, the hours that drift. One Friday a month, Kikyo's room is given that arc, from the last of dinner to the deep of the night.
The dinner hour
序 · The Prelude
Low, warm, conversational. Deep house under the plates and the sake, a pulse beneath the room rather than over it.
The turn
破 · The Drift
As the tables clear the lounge becomes a floor. Organic, melodic, hypnotic; the room lifts without ever raising its voice.
Late
急 · The Deep
The floating world proper. Deep and elegant, held until three, the kind of late that regulars build a Friday around.
三A word
A first Friday, to begin.
Three first-Fridays, to start. Judged on the room. Carried, and grown, only if it earns it.
